If you are sincerely inclined to improve upon fan relations, go over to your own message board (where I refrained from posting anything last night) and deliver this message to your fans. If you truly want more civilized behavior, maybe you spread those entreaties for civil discourse around. Start with the cretin who mused last night that if he’d had a gun with him when leaving the stadium, he would have liked to shoot everyone he saw in a Virginia Tech hat. I’m sure you understand why that gross and vile sentiment was swiftly obliterated by your board monitors. I’m sure it doesn’t take exercising your considerable mind to know why that excrement was beyond the pale. While you’re at it, maybe you can offer an ineffectual pretend-stern parental face to the missing link who hoped our fan base all got into car accidents on the way home.

Seriously, I’m not saying you’re lying about your experience at Lane and I have no reason NOT to believe you, but it smacks of disingenuous finger wagging as an emissary of an overblown, self-righteous fan base who wants to be treated like kings but has no issue behaving like criminals. When I see you offer a similarly serious message in your own house, I’ll have a different response to your message above.
