If the game is not played, the coaches will not be getting any bonues.
The coaches, at least the assistants, have bonuses in their contracts for a bowl game, so if we do not play Marshall that money is not due. The $100K will likely be less than we might have to pay in bonuses for going to a bowl game, so the money should already in the budget.
If you just look at $, playing the game and winning likely cost a lot more when you go to a bowl game that has fans not buying very many of the ticket allotment that VT would be required to buy.
However, the extra practice time a bowl would bring would hopefully be good for next year.
