The place was PACKED* at kickoff. The students even showed up And we all have a (dare I say obligation?) to show up to these games, if not to cheer on this worthless coaching staff and poor team, to fill the stands and appreciate the legacy of the program. The only thing that could be worse than having a 4-8 / 4-7 football team is having no fans in Lane Stadium. Hokie Nation and the fans mean more than the team at this point, and I am willing to have an argument with anyone disagreeing with me on that. We have an obligation to uphold our integrity as a powerhouse fanbase and to uphold the respect of Lane Stadium, in my opinion.

Forget the football. Forget the coaches. At this point, we show up to support that midfield logo, the town of Blacksburg, the foundations of Lane Stadium, the legacy of the program, and the school that we all love. In all, we need to embody a Nebraska or Wisconsin football-type approach when it comes to fans. NONE of us want to become a FSU or USC fanbase when their team is down. It's embarrassing, and it reflects on the integrity of the fans.

My faith in us beating UVA is absolutely low. We've been beaten and battered by even ODU this year, but don't let that stop you from upholding the respectability of Lane. I hope for Enter Sandman to be rocking and for a fan turnout of around what the Miami game showed to be. We have a reputation as one of the best fanbases in the entire country. One of the best stadiums in the country. Across all 50 states. Don't be embarrassed if we lose. If you are there, you are already a better fan than most ACC team fanbases when their team is down. Let's be unique. Let's show the nation that even a 0-11 Hokies team could have the best fans in the nation.

*Not a sellout. Still about 10-15% of the stadium was empty (upper SEZ and top left East) like a normal game in Lane.
