Here’s what I see. Chip Kelly made the spread offense the offense of the decade. For a few years, defenses had no answers. Now, probably 125 schools run this offense. And defenses are catching up to it. It’s not the unstoppable offense it was five years ago.

It’s possible that Fuente, because he embraced this offense early enough, was successful with it without truly being an innovative offensive mind. Also, having some NFL quarterbacks didn't hurt either.

I’m curious to see if he can innovate or is he just another copycat with spread offenses without any real ideas of his own. Because right now, the offense looks no different than it did from 2012-2015.
