OK. Why doesn't the "Business" model work with school teachers?....


....they are in complete demand and the supply is not what it needs to be. There are absolutely essential-not a nice to have. You have to buy gas for your car every day therefore ExxonMobile makes billions and pays a bunch of people ungodly amounts of money. The skillset needed to be a teacher is unique-not anyone can do it. They also have requirements. They also have a very difficult job where they have to be adept, smart, great people skills and know the ins and outs of education. All of the things I just said should make teachers in high business demand in the US. They should have agents. They should have contracts. They should have incentives above and beyond normal compensation. They don't have any of. In the US we pay them crap. The typical Capitalist model of economics demand/supply doesn't make any sense in teaching so why should it in sports? Hey-nobody watches baseball and those guys get paid out the arse.
