In the business world you're paid for performance year by year.
I'd love to see college football follow the same path. If you kill it you get a huge financial gain. If you suck, you take a hit. It's time to take that approach since college football is now a significant business and results are important to the ongoing success of the business. I have an MBA and was trained to measure results. This year's team sucks and the CEO and management should accept the results and should be paid in accordance. Stop this stupid contract stuff and hold the management responsible. The current management is producing really bad results - hit them in their compensation!!!!!
