Some quick notes...

Isaiah Wilkins is a good player and needs to be a main stay in the rotation quickly. Willing defender and obviously very good offensively. He's essentially a combo of the good things about Hill Outlaw without the glaring issues of either.

J-Rob will need to be more assertive, obviously didn't need to tonight, but this team in the half court wasn't very good last year, and looked to be more of the same this year. Will be interesting to see what Nolley adds when he is available.

Seemed to be an emphasis on getting Blackshear the ball closer to the rim this season than last. With some innovative looks to do so. Last season it was the elbows where Blackshear touched the ball the most. This season he used rubs and screens from cutters to put defenders in a bad position to defend him at the basket. If VT can put players on the floor that will draw help defenders out of the lane it could really help improve half court offensive production.

VT forced 28 turnovers.

VT scored 13 points in transition.

One of those is a great number, one of those magnifies their struggles in the half court. Against better teams, this is bad news.

VT had 20 turnovers on their own against a team that was very bad defensively. That number won't stay that high, but not a great look nonetheless.

Bede still looks rushed offensively, but played great on the ball. Kabongo never once looked at the rim. Horne is great at flying around in rotations defensively.

My favorite lineup

Robinson
NAW
Wilkins
Horne
Blackshear

Bring Hill and Bede off the bench first for a defensive lineup to give someone a quick break. Use Outlaw situationally, and hope Nolley gets back sooner than later
