You definitely whipped us fair and square. Consider the following list of underclassmen that would have been playing last night for VT, but did not due to either leaving early or for disciplinary reasons:

Tremaine Edmonds- 1st team ACC; 1st round NFL draft pick

Tim Settle - 2nd team ACC; late round NFL draft pick

Terrell Edmonds - 3rd team ACC; 1st round NFL draft pick

Mook Reynolds - 3 yr. starter; dismissed for disciplinary reasons

Adonis Alexander - 2 or 3 yr. starter; dismissed for academics/disciplinary reasons; selected in NFL supplemental draft

Travon Hill - 2 or 3 yr. starter; played first 3 games this season; dismissed for disciplinary reasons

These player losses were devastating to this defense. When you couple these 6 underclassmen starters with the 2 SR starters that left, that's 8 out of 11 gone. Having said that, it's plausible that you all would have won even if we would have had all these guys back. I'm not making excuses, because your guys whipped our guys, but I'm just pointing out something you may or may not know about.

I was disappointed with our inability to even slow you down even a little. Included in that is our D.C. not selling out to the run, or just trying something different.
