It's more than depth. Dynamic pass rush is gone
As are dominant corners. Yeah, these corners are young, but we've had young corners hold their own.
There is no disputing that this is the youngest D. But I think we aren't even seeing flashes of explosiveness at DE and DB. Maybe some of our young players on D lose their jobs to younger players next year.
I am questioning if Fuente is recruiting at the Beamerball level on D at this point. Our great DBs and DE's of the past were hit or miss as freshman, but they showed twitchiness and dynamic capabilities on an inconsistent basis early on. I'm not seeing it at the moment.
