I include myself in the criticism. VT has been a schizophrenic program for a long while now. A program always with one foot on the cusp of greatness and the other buried thigh deep in mediocrity.

This roller coaster experience has left many fans with unrealistic expectations, and irrational perceptions of who we are.

It leaves the fanbase and program open to the most monumental humiliations. Every tantalizing win soon followed by crushing loss.

We continue to point fingers...Bud...Fuente...Cornelson......at the end of the day we need to realize this program IS NOT ELITE. That was an open question for a few years a long time ago. Its been answered in spades for a long time now.

While high aspirations require high expectations...we wont keep good coaches like JF with Caviar taste on a tuna fish budget.

Why does this phenomenon never improve? Why does this Fuente program look more and more like a Beamer team every year? Same reason Loeffler looked like Stiney by year 3... Because the recruiting NEVER improves. Its the same class every year.
