I'm in an adjacent county to Pitt County....
and less than 45 miles to Greenville, and Hurricane Florence was/is devastating. We've had flooding like we've never seen before. Our kids haven't been to school since September 12th and are "tentatively" scheduled to start back October 8th because schools are still being used as shelters for those that have lost their homes. Hurricanes are tricky and just a few dozen miles makes a big difference. ECU made a call based on the information at that time, which was 2 days before predicted landfall, with Greenville in the bullseye at that time. As a Hokie living in ENC, I can't fault them for that.
