At this point, I'm just wishing the best for those in the path of the storm. I doubt that many people in Greenville or the surrounding communities are stressing about the football game or lack thereof at this point.
I would have liked it better if ECU had just said that they didn't think is was appropriate to be playing a game while their community was struggling with a storm of this magnitude, rather than giving the bogus player safety argument. That explanation would have won me over anyway. But I guess being honest about what they were doing would have exposed them to a cancellation penalty (not that I know a thing about the contract). And I would have preferred that Whit not have expressed his frustration publicly (though it was a rather mild statement - not sure why there was any backlash).
