There are a TON of football games this weekend that have one or both teams within the Hurricane projection. Every single one of them has worked together to make a plan, whether to cancel, move the game, or just monitor the situation. Every single one, except ECU. And it wasn't their place to declare publicly, by themselves, that the game was canceled.
