You could save that by driving 1 mph slower, ordering water instead of soda/tea/coffee one or two times a month, switching to a credit card with better cash back, etc. Some banks are paying almost 2% apr on savings accounts now; with only like $1600 in the bank, your interest would cover an Athletic sub. I could go on...

With sports (all, really) media now, you get what you pay for. The subscription offerings (TSL, Athletic, 247, etc) are WAY better than the free drivel at newspapers, Bleacher Report, etc. Yahoo Sports is about the only decent free sportswriting left now, and they barely cover VT.
