Use to make the "commitment" in verbal into a much stronger word than recruits and recruiters use that word. It's like dating in high school. You can break up temporarily and get back together, or not, and it's no big deal to either party. It isn't like a blood oath or marriage.

I think Fu got pisssed that one borderline recruit was dishonest about his activities while Fu was holding a spot for him. That kid miscalculated. Ford never committed to VT and insiders were saying he was PSU bound for a solid month before he committed to PSU. He's been nothing but honest as best as I can tell.

I've got no issue with Kelly's handling of his recruiting either. He isn't sure what he wants to do so he was upfront and opened up his recruitment again. I'm sure Fu would gladly take him back if that is how it works out.

I don't get the grown men questioning the character of either these kids, their judgement and taste maybe, but not their character.
