All indications are that Buzz is going to leave VT in April 2019 with a gutted roster and no recruits in the pipeline, and we'll get a measly ~$500k buyout from TAMU or whoever for the trouble.

Whit went 'all in' on Buzz to get him to come to VT, and signed away all his leverage in the process. But it means he doesn't have any chips left right now, so he's just got to patiently vet coaching candidates while he waits for Buzz to skip town.

Frankly, the scenario I described is VT's BEST CASE right now. Worst case is TAMU gets turned off by Buzz' antics and hires someone else, and we're stuck with a tainted Buzz who has no ACC-caliber assistants and no recruits, with a huge $15mil or whatever buyout so we can't even fire him. We better hope like crazy the dominos fall quickly, because letting this fester another summer will make the JJ years seem like decent basketball seasons in comparison.
