As television technology got better and cheaper...


...it makes the decision for out of town fans much tougher.

I'm in the 757, and might only catch one home game/year. Had season tickets for one season here, and it hitting the road after work on Friday sucked. Used to stay with family, but that was still 90 minutes away from Blacksburg. Lets just say it was very taxing weekends...

The technology change that sort of killed it for me was the advent of cheap 1080p televisions. You can see the game much better than you can seated in the stands. My old 1080i picture wasn't nearly as good, and didn't effect my decision to make the drive to Blacksburg.

Now if I hit the lottery, I'll buy a condo in Blacksburg as well as season tickets. That way I can enjoy an easy drive a day or two before the games...heck, might buy BB season tickets too? Until then, I'm investing as much of my discretionary income as possible so I can enjoy more games down the road...
