His 4th season hasn't even tipped off, and we're already predicting and mourning his departure at the end of the year. A couple months ago we were jacked up at the prospect of going to the NCAAT for the 3rd year in a row, the first time that's ever happened in program history. Instead of wringing our hands in despair we ought to be preparing to retain Buzz with an unprecedented financial package. But nooooo...all the negative Nancys want to tar and feather him and run him out of town on a rail. CRIMINY! What is wrong with this picture???

First, Buzz is reported as saying he wants to retire by age 50. So he's got about 3 years left wherever he is, here, aTm, ?SU. That stated plan is a game changer for any interested party. Who will hire him? He's got a home in Blacksburg. Not just a home, but a legacy. GOAT. Keys to the city. Who's a fool, him(?), or us?

Second...there is no second place. The only thing we have to fear is fear itself. Or self fulfilling prophecy, sparked by insanity of the masses, the Hokie Nation. It makes me sick. Even children learn that chicken little is a non-sensical fable. No one can control what happens. Good or bad, you take what comes and deal with it.
