Yes, those are still bad numbers. Things have improved but my experience

with HC and VT donating in general is still less than desirable. I think VT marketing and branding is still somewhat po dunk SW Virginia mentality and I dont believe they frame the problem of why donating is important. And, the ROI is kinda pitiful-donate thousands of dollars and here is your window decal or key fob which looks like cheap garbage. Just got a letter from VT Alumni Association and it is all about give give give, but nothing in return. Several years ago I tried to get some high quality photos I liked from both the athletic department and VTs photograph collection. I have plans to finish a basement room into a Hokie themed home theater/home gym. Wanted some high quality pics of Pylons, football, etc...Athletic or HC rep said they would inquire, never heard back. VT refused to sell me their photos because I wasnt employed at VT. But I am an alum, spent best 4 years of my life, and paid VT to get my degree. I want to pay and show others how great Ut Prosim is. Sorry.
It is non forward thinking like this that keeps VT trapped regionally by its ownself and languishes behind nationally. Oh, and throw in the curvey VT logo and dumb too. The square root VT is THE branding of Tech. Stick to it and make it national like the Bama A, or UGA G or luckeye O symbol, etc...Donated 1995-2015, 20 years and never got much back. Had to stop...2 kids in college so just had to cut some expenses. Could go on, but I think there are probably similar experiences out there.
