My child graduated from UNC. She wrote all of her own papers, including her senior thesis, and worked damn hard for her degree. And she and many others are furious about Carolina’s cheating scandal—that it reflects poorly on people’s perceptions of the rest of the school, regardless of how rigorous other courses and departments might be.

She says she and others find it laughable when they hear UVa fans claim that their school is a big rival of UNC. Carolina people consider Duke their rival, and only Duke—definitely not UVa.
