I don't want to be over confident, but considering how easy...

it is to get into a bowl game these days... your comment seems a bit dramatic. The glass is not even half empty.

The thing is we know what we are losing, but we don't know much about the players we have, who haven't played yet. This is a huge opportunity for quite a few players, who have been working and waiting for their chance.

Also, Fuente is a coach on the rise... he won't be messing around. AND since when has Bud Foster put a bad D on the field, even with a lot of first year starters? Fuente is still forging his career, and he seems very determined to be one of the greats. I have not known Foster to let up, or give up because he doesn't have the horses he needs.

Things shift... and the offense is poised to take a step forward, but it is still quite young. Even if the D takes a step backwards, it won't be a terrible D. If our offense can put more points on the board, and our D allows an extra FG each game, compared to last year... VT is still taking a step forward. We just don't have a good pulse on the team right now, with so many new starters we haven't seen in action... it doesn't mean they will be bad, just different than what we have become familiar with.

Do you trust Fuente and Foster? Worrying isn't going to change what happens. We may have to be patient with this year's team, but 6 or 7 wins is all it takes to get to a bowl. If that's the best the team can do... so be it, but it seems like Fuente is aiming for 10 wins, or more.
