I don't know about that

At PSU, you redshirt, share time for a season, you get the majority of carries the next season, then you get drafted. It's a three year deal (I'm not saying this is exactly how the system works. But in theory, this is ideal at a place like that). And even if there are multiple 5* RBs on the roster, it works out.

At VT, there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason for the rotation. You simply split the carries.
