I agree that I wish things were a bit more transparent

Not necessarily back to where it was under Beamer, but some kind of happy medium. Our sample size with JJ was with him being rushed in probably a year too early, then getting banged up to the point of losing much of his effectiveness. If the reports are true in that he had a hairline fracture in his foot, that could cause many of the issues we saw. He isn't fleet of foot, but he wasn't a statue against WVU... but later in the year he appeared to be one. He doesn't have a rocket arm, but he had a better arm in the WVU game then we saw later in the year. We also know that he can take a beating and still bounce back up. He is also the undisputed team leader (there have been reports that there would be a near revolt if JJ were to lose the job other than there being a CLEAR lead from whoever were to win the job... obviously I don't know how true that is... but the team loves JJ).

But if things were more transparent, that would give us some insight into why decisions are being made. With such a small sample size, there's bound to be a few guys (at multiple positions) that have a great day and make people wonder why they aren't getting more reps. But perhaps that person was having a good day and/or the competition who does see more snaps didn't have as good a day. But our sample size was one practice (and secondhand there are some reports on a practice that was open to reporters IIRC). JF and company have a sample size of 15 practice, meetings, etc.... as well as insight into what these guys are like in the locker room, how they think, how they react, how they prepare etc.
