It seems like most NBA players today have lost the art of the mid-range
jumper. They either know how to shoot 3-pointers or dunk/layups because most of the time that is what makes the newsreel for the segment on the game.
Also, it seems like fewer big men feel comfortable posting up down low in the paint with their backs to the glass compared to other decades. Now it seems that most big men are more comfortable playing away from the paint while facing the glass or chucking up 3-pointers all day long. It wouldn't surprise me if some day the NBA 3-Point Contest was nothing but big men. I don't have a problem with big men learning a new skill. My issue (and concern) is it doesn't feel like "basketball" when a game has no inside game because both teams don't have players who are skilled at playing down low in the paint and all that comes with that territory.
