Where the Scott resignation really hurts

Certainly this will temporarily hurt the 'coaching' angle of the defense but that can be rectified with a good hire; and, the opening will be attractive to good candidates (you get to work with a legendary DC who just put two brothers in the first round of the NFL draft). Where this will really hurt in the short term at least is in recruiting. Galen has been instrumental in getting a number of your better recruits over the last two classes. On several occasions I noticed that this or that recruit was visited by Bud or whoever WITH Galen also involved or present. He has really helped resuscitate Bud's recruiting. This loss will be a blow to our recruiting for a while. The additional loss of Chuck Cantor just accentuates potential damage to recruiting. CJF needs to get in really good replacements as soon as possible. (I wonder if a 'co-defensive coordinator' position could lure back Torian Gray?- he knows the area well and is a great safety's coach)
I hope he can repair things with his family regardless of whether he ever returns to coaching. Perhaps CJF will help with that.
