Victor Greene, Virginia Tech Go Separate Ways

Uncertain about his standing with new head coach Justin Fuente, Courtland (Spotsylvania, VA) linebacker/running back Victor Greene has decided to de-commit from Virginia Tech and explore other options. Tech now has 14 commitments in the class of 2016.

“I can confirm that I have de-committed,” Greene answered when asked if this Fredericksburg Free Lance-Star report was accurate.

“[Virginia Tech defensive coordinator Bud] Foster talked to [Courtland head coach JC] Hall on Monday,” Greene said. “My understanding is that Coach Foster said there was a chance some defensive offers would be pulled for more offensive scholarships.”

Greene, a senior, earned Conference 19 Offensive Player of the Year honors for his play at running back this season. Virginia Tech wanted him as a linebacker, however.

Coastal Carolina offered Greene a scholarship yesterday, and the 6’0”, 210-pound prospect is also getting interest from Liberty, Towson, and Wake Forest.

  1. Hope he goes to Towson and hopefully Alex Ramsey from Salem goes there they could do some work together!

  2. Looking at his offer list shows why our talent level has fallen off so much. Liberty, Towson, and Wakeforest

    1. This better change in a hurry. If Daboy, a wide receiver coach, can recruit 5 stars left and right, they we had better get on the stick. “Coffee is for closers”.

      1. ?? Close of 5-stars? When had that ever happened. I hate this for the young man involved but his offer list is very telling.
