CB Khalil Ladler Commits To VT!

Khalil Ladler, a 4-star senior cornerback out of IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, announced this afternoon that he has verbally committed to Virginia Tech. Ladler was in Blacksburg this weekend on an official visit.

“First I would like to thank God for giving me this opportunity to play football on the next level. I would like to thank all the coaches who still recruited me even with my season ending injury. Thanks for all the people that have supported me through out this whole process. This has been one of the hardest decisions I have made in my life but I have decided to take my talents for the next 3-4 years to Virginia Tech. #VT #GoHokies,” Ladler wrote in a tweet. Numerous ACC and SEC schools – Florida State, Georgia, LSU and Miami are some – offered the 5’10”, 170-pound Ladler, a Georgia native who transferred to IMG Academy after his junior year. Unfortunately, he suffered a torn ACL this past summer and is out for the year.

Virginia Tech was Ladler’s first official visit destination. The Hokies now boast 17 verbal commits in the class of 2016. Ladler, Troy Pride Jr. and Myles Wolfolk are projected cornerbacks.

    1. It’s bitten Us in the Ass many times, George Bell, etc. I honestly don’t see any reason for worrying about Marshawn Williams and such-let him transfer to a lesser School. We are quickly becoming a lesser School too.

    2. It’s a risk for sure, but Ladler is too talented for a school like VT to pass over. If he can recover successfully he has a chance to be a great one.

      1. Remember Sweat had a busted up knee too, would you take him right now? I know I sure would (and most if not all college coaches in the country would too.)

  1. We have a great school with a strong football tradition. We will get through this tough spot and this young man will be a Hokie.

  2. Is it just me, or do we seem to frequently recruit players who have had serious injuries in high school?

    1. Why?
We have always recruited good DB talent, we have good people coaching, and they see we have PT available because we’re struggling now

      1. Wait, so you’re telling me you aren’t surprised that a 4 star recruit from IMG Academy committed to us after the Pitt game?

    2. He’s a HS student in Florida, not a disgruntled Tech fan. And he has an opportunity to become the next Brandon Flowers or Jayron Hosely. Seems very believable to me.

    3. What do you mean by unbelievable? Thank goodness we have some folks out there who don’t make decisions on knee jerk reactions like some of our fans….smh.

      1. I mean I wouldn’t have bet in a million years that a 4 star kid from IMG Academy would’ve committed after that pitiful game…how was that a “knee jerk” reaction?
