Maryland Hokie Club fans, family, and friends:

I hope you are excited about Virginia Tech playing in the Northrop Grumman Military Bowl in Annapolis, December 27, 2014.  We will be playing in our 22nd consecutive bowl game and playing a familiar team, the Cincinnati Bearcats.

The Maryland Hokie Club is thrilled to have the Hokies in our backyard.  I wanted to let you know about a few events that we are involved in and supporting.

At 9am on gameday, join us for the 2014 Military Bowl Parade in Annapolis, which will be led by the Budweiser Clydesdales. It begins at City Dock and working its way through the downtown brick streets and out Rowe Boulevard to the stadium.

All Hokies are invited to join the Hokie Club for a pre-game social which will be held just inside the Military Bowl Official Tailgate area at the Stadium. Complimentary food will be offered (first-come, first-served), and a cash bar will be available. Just look for the large tent with the Virginia Tech Athletic Club banners.  This event will be held from 10:30am to 12:30pm.

Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. ET on Saturday, Dec. 27 at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.

After the game, join us at Fado’s to celebrate a win.  Fado’s is located at 1 Park Place #7, Annapolis, MD.  This is right across the street from the Virginia Tech Fan Hotel, Westin Annapolis.

Please help us spread the word.  For a full list of Military Bowl activities, you can go to their website http://www.militarybowl.org/gameday/.

Thanks and GO HOKIES,

  1. Palmetto- from my admittedly limited memory of Annapolis ( from our game vs. Navy several years ago) the parade route described will not greatly affect stadium traffic.

  2. My wife (also a Hokie) is part of the executive team with the USO. Great organization and great mission. Remember the troops and if you are so inclined you can donate a ticket through the Military Bowl website. Family will be there representing the USO and VT. Hope to see you all there on the 27th and looking forward to a VT victory!!!
