  1. I remember an interview awhile back talking about him wanting to get into coaching. I believe he needs to complete his degree to obtain a GA position. Reading between the lines of this interview when he said “I’m not in a hurry to get out of here. We will see what happens”, it looks like he wants to stay at VT as a graduate assistant.

  2. Am I missing something, does KJ work in some capacity for VT? (or volunteer his time?) When KJ left early for the NFL, Will or someone suggested he’s not someone who looked like he wanted to leave VT at the time. This article just seems to re-enforce that notion. (and still likes it there)

    1. NO DOUBT…KJ looks great, but who was the guy off his right shourlder, he made KJ look like Shaq O’Neil!!??

  3. KJ is #1 in my book. It would have been great to see what a healthy KJ could have accomplished in the NFL, but my hats off to him for coming back to VT to complete his degree. My wife and I had the pleasure of spending some time with him the night before VT played at Texas A&M in the early 2000’s- a true gentleman and wonderful representative for our great university.

    1. He’s working on a Msaters in Industrial Design in school of Architecture I believe- not completing his undergrad.

    1. I’m pretty sure they have to pay unless you’re related to Weaver because his kids, kids, kids get to go to VT for free as a part of his retainer bonus.

  4. I remember bumping into KJ downtown one night after we lost to Miami, he was really nice and cool to talk to, really like him.

  5. OK, this interview completely changes my view of KJ. When he was here, I only thought he saw VT as a stepping stone to the NFL, nothing more. WHen you hear this interview, you can tell how much he loves our university. And, to come back for 3 years to complete his degree? Wow.
    Welcome home, KJ!

  6. KJ getting degree in Industial Desigh. Good for him. I remember how focused he was to being the best athlete he could be when he came out of high school.

  7. Always liked KJ when he was a player and my opinion hasn’t changed now. I’ll always remember him speaking to my son and I when we recognized him soon after he went to NFL. Quality young man.
