Cam Phillips might have played third fiddle in the Virginia Tech receiving corps last year, but he’s the man now. On Tuesday, the hype got even louder, as Phillips was named to the Biletnikoff Award watch list.
The Biletnikoff Award is given each year to the most outstanding receiver in the nation.
Phillips caught fire at the end of last season, and finished with 76 receptions, 983 yards and five touchdowns. Phillips also caught six passes for 115 yards in the Belk Bowl, and was named most valuable player. Currently, Phillips is sixth in team history with 2,063 receiving yards and is tied for third in career catches with 165.
Those new glasses should help his numbers. His time to lead the sports page headlines.
Must be the “suit”
