The Hokie™ Way, a key organization for Virginia Tech NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness), has launched a “Countdown to Kickoff” donation matching campaign that runs August 1 through September 2.
The Hokie™ Way (THW) has also announced its full roster of eight charitable partners.
Countdown to Kickoff Campaign
Last December, THW had a very successful donation matching campaign that raised over half a million dollars. They’re launching a similar campaign, called “Countdown to Kickoff,” that begins August 1 and runs until kickoff of the Virginia Tech vs. ODU game on September 2.
Generous donors have pledged to match up to $250,000 in donations received during the Countdown to Kickoff campaign. Last December’s campaign easily raised over $600,000 in a shorter period of time, and THW hopes to match or exceed that effort with this new campaign.

The Hokie Way Expands List of Charitable Partners to Eight Organizations
THW’s initial roster of charitable partners included:
- Feeding Southwest Virginia
- Special Olympics of the New River Valley
- Boys and Girls Clubs of Southwest Virginia
- The Life Ring Foundation
In recent months, they have added four more partners:
- Roanoke Prevention Alliance
- Ronald McDonald House Charities of SW Virginia
- Eastmont Community Foundation
- The American Heart Association
