Andrew Hanchuk
Defensive End, Class of 2024
Midpark, Cleveland, OH
6-5, 260

Virginia Tech picked up another commitment on Monday morning, this time from Ohio defensive tackle Andrew Hanchuk. He is the ninth commitment of the 2024 recruiting class. He becomes the second defensive tackle commitment of the class, and he’s one of two players from the state of Ohio.

Hanchuk was offered by Virginia Tech on April 8, and his official visit to Blacksburg over the weekend sealed the deal. He is also listed with an offer from West Virginia, as well as non-P5 offers from programs such as Toledo, Temple, Miami (OH) and others.

At 6-5, 260, Hanchuk projects to play defensive tackle for J.C. Price, who was his primary recruiter. 247Sports ranks him as a 3-star recruit and the No. 40 player in the state of Ohio for the 2024 cycle.

  1. I think I think I like the linemen that appear athletic and just need to add muscle, as opposed to the ones that are fat and need to remake their bodies.

  2. Glad to have him on board. He’s young & will hopefully continue to fill out but he doesn’t look 260 in that pic. I would’ve estimated 240.

  3. Seems a Wyatt Teller type, good athlete that makes the switch to the OL – but offensive tackle not guard. Go Hokies !

    1. Feed him some cheeseburgers and get that height up and start
      working on his recruitment!

  4. If Toledo is recruiting him he’s a good catch, lots of talent in Ohio.

OSU doesn’t usually go after anyone who’s not a 4 star or higher, they use 3 stars for special times and back ups.

    1. No. He only played four games as a junior I believe because of an injury, so his offer list at this point is very limited.
