Gabriel Williams
Linebacker, Class of 2024
St. Vincent Pallotti, Laurel, MD
6-4, 195
Virginia Tech football picked up a big commitment when Maryland linebacker Gabriel Williams announced his decision on Sunday evening. He is the eighth commitment of the 2024 recruiting class, and the first linebacker of the class.
Currently rated as a 4-star prospect by all four recruiting services, Williams can also be considered the biggest commitment of the Brent Pry era thus far. His rankings by 247 and On3 stand out in particular…
247: No. 215 overall, No. 20 linebacker, No. 4 player in Maryland
On3: No. 85 overall, No. 6 linebacker, No. 1 player in Maryland
Williams previously took an official visit to Pitt before visiting the Hokies officially this weekend. He was scheduled to visit Duke later this month, and presumably that visit will no longer take place. Besides those schools, he is also listed with scholarship offers from Power 5 programs such as Boston College, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Maryland, Notre Dame, Ole Miss, Penn State, Tennessee, Southern Cal, Virginia and West Virginia.
Multiple players took official visits to Virginia Tech over the weekend, and it’s possible that we could see more commits coming in the near future.
WELCOME TO THE HOKIE NATION !!
We just got better.
Excellent news… welcome, Gabriel! Hokie Nation is unique and special family. The wisdom of your decision will be self-evident to you and your family in the years to come.
Welcome and congratulations Gabriel. You will love being a Hokie.
The Stars are aligning!
Solid classes are built upon recruiting momentum! This just feels differently and Coach Pry’s plan is building momentum and a team we can be proud of again!
Good to break the three star ceiling VT has been under!
Welcome Gabriel. Being a Hokie for life is a very big deal. Wise move. !
Welcome Gabriel. Time to go to work!
Go Hokies.
Elijah Brooks is turning out to be a very good hire as running backs coach.
if we can get chris cole to go with him that will give us one of the better linebacker recruiting classes anywhere around.
Yes
I think we have a Maryland pipeline. since Pry has taken over. We get some wins in Maryland, Virginia, and PA, think we could be all right.
Agreed. I would add NC to that list, too.
Good stuff we know that Pry can recruit for sure
Good choice, young man! Good job, coaches!
Welcome a board Mr. Williams. Go Hokies!!!
Big get
Recruiting still on upward trend. Let’s keep building.
Glad to see this. Will be even more so after officially signs. At least we do see those being truly interested in VT.
To beat out USC-west, ND, Ole Miss, Penn State, and Tenn
