Ayden Greene
WR, Class of 2023
Powell High School, Powell, TN
6-3, 180
Virginia Tech picked up a commitment from Powell High School (TN) wide receiver Ayden Greene on Sunday evening. He is the 20th commitment of the 2023 recruiting class and the fourth wide receiver to verbal to the Hokies. Marcell Baylor, Takye Heath and Jonathan Pennix are the other three.
Greene was a top target for Virginia Tech over the summer, but he committed to Cincinnati over an offer list that included the Hokies, Arkansas, Wake Forest, UVA, Mississippi State, Tennessee, Pitt, and a few others. However, Luck Fickell departed Cincinnati to take the head coaching job at Wisconsin, and Greene elected to reopen his recruitment. After an official visit to Blacksburg this weekend, he quickly made his commitment.
247Sports ranks Greene as a 3-star prospect and the No. 12 overall recruit in Tennessee.
Greene was very productive over the last two seasons, putting up the following numbers…
2022: 56 catches, 956 yards, 17.1 avg, 15 TDs
2021: 69 catches, 905 yards, 13.1 avg, 8 TDs
Virginia Tech has put a big emphasis on wide receiver recruiting as we approach the end of the 2023 recruiting cycle, and that includes high school prospects and transfer portal targets.
