The Moment: Florida State 2018

We’re pleased to introduce a new feature here on TSL: “The Moment,” in which we highlight the best photos from Virginia Tech football’s most recent game.

We took long-time TSL photographer Ivan Morozov with us to Tallahassee, and he shot some great images during the game.

All photos are higher-res than what we normally post. These are 2400×1600 shots. Click on each photo to view it in its full resolution.

This week, we feature four photos that either captured key moments or just look really cool. Enjoy.

For a complete photogallery of the game (162 photos), check out Ivan’s personal site.

The Moment: Damon Hazelton (14) separates from Levonta Taylor (1) to score Virginia Tech’s first touchdown. (Ivan Morozov)
The Moment: Trevon Hill draws a pre-snap bead on Florida State’s offensive backfield. Hill registered two sacks in the game (Ivan Morozov)
The Moment: Eric Kumah waits for a blocked punt to fall into his arms. Kumah reeled it in and scored to put Virginia Tech up 17-3 late in the first half. Chris Cunningham (left), who blocked the punt, is already starting the celebration. (Ivan Morozov)
The Moment: Ricky Walker celebrates with Tech fans and holds up the Hokies’ iconic lunch pail. (Ivan Morozov)

  1. Highest compliments, TSL. Excellent curated visual feature subtly and appropriately implemented. Enjoyable.

The best part about Pic No. 3 is all the facepalming in the stands way in the background as they see the ball floating gently down.

  2. Love this feature! Check out CJ in the background after the punt block! Already giving a fist pump and headed to the endzone to celebrate!

  3. In the picture of Bud during warm-ups, his sideline pass is number “007”.
He did a Bond like job on FSU.

  4. Awesome new feature. Ivan has an amazing talent to capture emotions in photos. Great new feature!!!

  5. I thought it was going to show the FSU fans leaving after the last score. That was the moment everyone knew that the game was in the hand of the good guys.

  6. Before anybody says that Hazleton pushed off in that Moment – Taylor could have easily run into the outstretched arm instead of our guy pushing off. Notice both arms are extended.

    1. Yeah definitely. Went from the first drive of the game and to the blocked field goal in the first half straight to after the game.

      1. LOL, it’s only going to be a few select photos from each game, not a full-blown gallery.

I’ll go back and add a link to Ivan’s gallery on his site.

        1. Then make it a Moment from every quarter and one postgame. Gimme 5 – High 5.
“High 5” might be a better name than “The Moment”.

          High 5: Florida State 2018.
