Evan Hughes
Evan Hughes, a sophomore majoring in Multimedia Journalism with a concentration in Sports Media and Analytics, has joined the TSL team as our new podcast host and wrestling writer.

TechSideline.com is pleased to introduce Evan Hughes, who will be hosting the TSL Podcast and covering Virginia Tech Wrestling for us in the 2018-19 academic year.

Evan is a sophomore at Virginia Tech majoring in Multimedia Journalism with a concentration in Sports Media and Analytics. He’s a broadcaster and writer from Richmond, Virginia who has been a Hokie since the day he was born.

This past spring, Evan was the Voice of Virginia Tech Softball, in which he called games for the ACC Network Extra and hosted the Hokie Softball Podcast. Over the summer, he completed his first season as the Director of Radio Broadcasting for the St. Cloud Rox of the Northwoods League, in which he won the honor of Broadcaster of the Year.

Evan is eager to get to work for Tech Sideline and cover Virginia Tech athletics, and we will be posting his first podcast with us today.

  1. I gotta say, I’ve been looking for some insightful wrestling coverage and am very pleased that TSL has expanded coverage of wrestling beyond the contributions to the wrestling board. I wrestled in a PA high school in 1967-69. Wrestling has changed a lot since then and I am hoping Evan can demystify the discussion so that us older wrestlers can understand the current rules and strategies and participate in the discussion. Cheers to TSL!
