Keshawn King
Running Back, Class of 2019
Oakleaf High School, Orange Park, FL
6-0, 185

Virginia Tech received a surprise commitment over the weekend when Oakleaf High School (Orange Park, FL) running back Keshawn King made his decision.

King is the 14th verbal commitment of the 2019 recruiting class, and the first running back of the class.  He ran for over 1,400 yards for Oakleaf last season, and also caught 11 passes.

King isn’t a name that was on the radar of Tech fans, because he wasn’t considered a serious VT target by recruiting analysts until the day he committed.  However, he has a good offer list that includes Arkansas, Miami, Louisville, Ole Miss, Nebraska, South Carolina and others.  He is a consensus three-star recruit, though ESPN rates him as a 4-star recruit and the No. 20 running back in the country.

It remains to be seen whether the Hokies plan to take another running back in this class, or if they are content with only King.

  1. Wow! I hope he stays committed to us. Looks better than anyone we have on the current roster at rb.

  2. Wow! This kid’s vision is amazing! He makes a decision and is gone. He’s a plant and go guy, not much dancing going on, I like what I see a lot!

Mr King sir you are a welcome addition to Hokie Nation!!

  4. I loved watching that film! Very instinctive cuts. Breakaway acceleration. And even some nice blocks for pass protection. In other words, a bona fide running back with what appear to be elite skills!

  5. Kid saw a open spot with a good offensive line and took it. Can’t wait to move on from the RB disaster
