Tayvion Robinson has committed to Virginia Tech, giving the Hokies a fifth in-state commitment for the 2019 recruiting class and 11th commitment overall.

Robinson is a versatile athlete with dynamic playmaking ability in the open field, whose most likely position at Virginia Tech is slot receiver. His junior-year highlight film shows him playing a wide variety of positions: defensive back, quarterback, slot receiver, running back, punt returner and kick returner.

Recruiting services differ on Robinson’s size and ranking.

  • Rivals: 4-star; 6-0, 170; No. 6 player in the state; No. 232 player nationally
  • 247Sports: 3-star, 5-10, 165; No. 14 player in the state; No. 599 player nationally
  • ESPN: 3-star; 5-10, 165; No. 16 player in the state; unranked nationally

With Robinson’s commitment, the Hokie close out on another important recruit for the 2019 cycle. Click here for a list of Virginia Tech commitments for 2019.

  1. 4.87? The guys on the video on the other side of the ball from him must be mid 5’s then.

    1. just copied (from hudl) “the facts, ma’am. just the facts.” “‘Dragnet'” circa 1957.

maybe he had Devon Hunter and Cam Goode on his back for the shuttle run that day?!!

      Go Hokies!

  2. welcome Mr Robinson! this is a good, good get – just in itself. reads like he’ll be on O. but maybe D?

some very earlier post compared Mr. TR to
Percy Harvin who was as a WR 5-11/ 185, with a 40 Yard Dash: 4.35 and Shuttle: 4.18; as a 2006 high school grad. (stat source: 247)

our Mr. TR lists as a WR/QB/DB 5-11/ 165, with 40 Yard Dash: 4.87 and Shuttle: 4.22; and Vertical: 28.4 (stat source: hudl)

just the measured facts for anyone’s/early posters consideration.

it would/will be great if he turns out to be that much of a college talent for our Hokies!

    Go Hokies!

  3. Will, Robinson is not on your linked list…is that an update not made yet?

Also, I note there are now 4 athletes on the list, including Robinson. I don’t recall seeing that many in any recruiting cycle. Any significance to that?

  4. SMART MOVE Tayvion!

You’ll never ever regret this decision and the sky is the limit!

    1. Home is where your heart is Tayvion and that’s VT!!!!! The Hokie Nation welcomes you with open arms! LET’S GO……….HOKIES!!!!!!!!!!
