  1. Bill Roth is great! So glad he is back in the Blacksburg-Roanoke area. A tremendously valuable resource. Thanks for coming back home, Bill.

  2. I, like Ricky, transferred to VT’s comms program from community college. In fact, I started the VT SPJ chapter in the mid 80s, because while I had more journalism experience than anyone at the CT (I had been freelancing for pay for years for Roanoke Times, Potomac News, etc.), I couldn’t get a CT role because I wasn’t already part of that clique. So all that stuff was really interesting. Thanks for including it.

  3. I hope Tech fans realize the broadcasting jewel we’ve long had in Bill Roth. Both technically and stylistically, he is one of the best in his business. That’s not bias; that’s earnest analysis.

I find Jon Laaser competent and clever. But Bill Roth is the paragon of precision and technique in radio broadcasting and it was a pleasure to listen to him tell me about so many wins over so many years.

    1. Thanks, lol. And yes, we’ll continue to try and bring on special guests periodically throughout the offseason.
