Virginia Tech added another commitment from the Greensboro area on Saturday, as linebacker Alan Tisdale announced his decision to commit to the Hokies.

The news was reported by Spencer Turkin of the Greensboro (NC) News and Record:
Page’s Alan Tisdale Commits to Virginia Tech

Tisdale is a 6-foot-4, 217-pound recruit from Page High School in Greensboro, N.C. He’s rated as a 4-star recruit by Rivals and a 3-star recruit by 247Sports. Tisdale holds 12 listed Power 5 offers, including offers from Louisville, NC State, Mississippi State, Maryland, NC State and Notre Dame.

Tisdale was previously listed at 6-3, 205 by TSL, but he said in the News and Record article that he is 6-4, 217. Tisdale also said he will be enrolling at Virginia Tech in January of 2018.

Virginia Tech now holds commitments from 15 players, five of whom are from the state of North Carolina. Tisdale is also the third commitment for the Hokies from the greater-Greensboro area, joining Tre Turner and DJ Crossen. So far, Virginia Tech seems to be generating results from their increased efforts in recruiting the Tar Heel state.

Tisdale is also the first linebacker to commit for the Class of 2018. Because Virginia Tech has taken several linebackers in recent recruiting classes, the Hokies have limited space at the position for this class. Dax Hollifield and Keshon Artis are likely the only remaining targets at linebacker for the Class of 2018.

  1. Welcome to the HOKIE Nation Mr. Tisdale; if you like sausage gravy and biscuits I recommend Joe’s Diner on Main st.

Wow 6′-4″ LB currently @ 217#. To CC; how much weight can he put on and maintain speed? I would figure he could come in at 235-240 and still keep his speed. It appears we may be getting some of our best LB since Adibi-Hall combo that came in with over 200 tackles per season and how many TFL (not Transport for London). I see some great run stuffing defense coming up in the future.

    GO HOKIES!!!

  2. Apropos of CC’s column yesterday in Qand A, how does Tech out of state COA compare to NC State and UNC in state COA?

  3. welcome Mr. T! – – – the VT%NCBlitz continues.

we are thankful for your 100% commitment; look forward to you’re having an all-star senior season; and anticipate your January ’18 arrival Burg-side.
we need you to be ready next season with TE49 possibly being lured “over to the pro-side.”

    Go Hokies!

  4. Listed NC State twice in the offers. Did they offer two schollies? 🙂

  5. I like the fact that he is committed without taking more visits = committed !!!
