Bucky Hodges, Virginia Tech’s junior tight end with 133 career catches and 20 career receiving touchdowns, will enter the 2017 NFL Draft.
The information was first reported on Twitter by Neil Stratton of InsidetheLeague.com:

Hodges has been overshadowed at times by record-setting receiver Isaiah Ford, but Hodges has accumulated some impressive career statistics in just three seasons:
- Catches: 133, #5 all-time at Virginia Tech
- Receiving Yards: 1,747, #11 all-time
- Receiving Touchdowns: #3 all-time
Hodges was signed as part of the 2013 recruiting class out of Salem High School in Virginia Beach. He redshirted during the 2013 season, and in the last three seasons, has played in 40 games, starting 37. His production has been very consistent, ranging from 40-48 receptions each season, 6 or 7 touchdown catches each season, and 526 to 691 yards each season.

Good luck in the NFL and in life, Bucky. You were fun to watch and I liked the salute to Keion Carpenter at the bowl game. You are a Hokie for life. Great job earning that degree. Gonna miss that 6′-7″ TE in Blacksburg.
Wish you would have stayed but nothing but best wishes for great success in the pros and otherwise in life.
Degree in the bag & headed to the NFL…thanks Bucky for some fantastic catches, TDs, blocks downfield on long TB runs, a Punt Block vs UVA &. A fantastic catch down the sidelines vs. wahoos on a Friday nite that erupted the Hokie Nation.
Nothing but the best to you…
Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday’s in the League.
Let’s Go…Hokies!!!
Thanks #7!!!
Did he graduate in December?
Yes. He did.
No one can blame him… Best of luck Bucky! Looking forward to watching you on Sundays!
This is good for Bucky! He will test off the charts for a man his size and go high second round. Can be set financially for life.
I hope he lands with a winning team and get’s a career like Gronkowski ! Happy New Year Hokies as we kicked the crap out of Duke!
Bucky’s dad’s name is variation of Genghis Khan’s real name, Temujin.
Kublai would’ve been cool nick name for Bucky.
Good Luck and all the best to you Bucky. Look forward to seeing you on Sundays.
For Bucky’s sake, I hope he doesn’t experience what Shyrone Stith did. Good luck, Bucky! We will miss you and all the fun we’ve had watching your gridiron exploits! Come back to see us!
All the best Bucky. Loved watching you play as a Hokie
Good luck Bucky and thanks! Hokie for life!
Good luck Bucky! Wish you would have come back but I understand the allure of the Benjamins!
TSLers – Does anyone know which round he’s projected to go in?
Last I had heard, it was somewhere between 2nd and 3rd, but with how projections go sometimes, he could go 2nd-5th.
Best of luck to him!
