Earlier this week, we noted that former Army offensive coordinator/offensive line coach Brent Davis was at Virginia Tech’s practice. He was there again on Saturday, and head coach Brent Pry confirmed that Davis has joined the program as an offensive consultant.
Davis was the offensive coordinator and offensive line coach at Army for nine seasons, where he coached many excellent running attacks. Before that, he spent time with former Georgia Tech head coach Paul Johnson at Georgia Southern, and he also crossed paths at Georgia Southern with Pry.
“Brent Davis is an offensive consultant,” Pry said after practice. “He and I have been friends since 2010. We coached together at Georgia Southern. Tremendous respect, so very fortunate to have him here.”
As of now, the appointment is only for spring practice, though Pry did not rule out the possibility that Davis could stay beyond the spring.
