Transitioning from Australia to the United States is an accomplishment in and of itself. Oscar Bradburn has not only done that, but has also played well in his freshman season at Virginia Tech. On Thursday, his efforts were recognized.
Virginia Tech head coach Justin Fuente announced on Thursday that the Aussie punter would wear No. 25 vs. North Carolina.

Bradburn, who enrolled for the spring semester last year, has acclimated himself well to the American football game. Bradburn has been a consistent weapon for Virginia Tech, averaging 43.8 yards per punt through the Hokies’ first six games. Bradburn has had nine of his 31 punts downed inside the opposing 20-yard-line, and has eight punts over 50 yards. Bradburn and the Hokies have stifled any punt returns this season, allowing just four punt return yards all season.
No. 14 Virginia Tech will take on North Carolina inside Lane Stadium on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. The game is sold out, which is Tech’s third straight.
Makes sense to me, made a difference as early as the WV game, Mr “Hidden Yards” this year.
