Current Scholarship Count For 2023 (Approximate)

These numbers include all eligible returning players who haven’t entered the transfer portal, plus all high school recruits and transfers who have committed/signed. These numbers are an estimate, as there are a few cases where we aren’t sure if a player is on scholarship or not, but they are very close to being accurate. The maximum number of scholarships allowed by the NCAA is 85.

Note: Players who enter the transfer portal could potentially remain at Virginia Tech, but for now we are not counting them towards the scholarship count.
