Tonight marks the beginning of the NFL Draft, which used to be a fairly momentous day for Virginia Tech.
Lately, though? Ehh, not so much. It’s been slim pickings in recent years. Chamarri Conner was the only player selected last year, going in the fourth round, and the best bet this year is probably a late-round pick if it’s anyone at all.
Which leads us to our first Hokies mailbag question:
I’ve read that Pheldarius Payne and Norell Pollard are getting NFL looks in the draft. Based on Pro Day, does anyone get their name called or get signed by the end of the weekend? What current players have the most potential to be drafted in 2025? — kpileski
