Post-Spring Thoughts On All 34 Of Virginia Tech’s Scholarship Offensive Players

Kyron Drones continued to take ownership of the quarterback position this spring for Virginia Tech. (Ivan Morozov)

Now that spring has ended and the transfer portal’s filling up, it’s a good time to take stock of the Virginia Tech football roster.

At the risk of writing about somebody who’s portal-bound, let’s run through the offense with a stock watch for each player. (And if someone decides to transfer after this is published, well, cross him off then.)

Here’s a thought or two on all 34 scholarship offensive players who were here this spring and who have not entered the portal:

Quarterback (2)

Kyron Drones (r-Jr.): The junior did nothing to temper excitement about his development, taking command of the offense, seizing a leadership role and putting his head down and going to work, earning the team’s offensive spring MVP award. He did all he needed to do in the spring game, leading his team to three touchdowns in his one quarter of work.
