On Tuesday, junior pitcher Rodney Dunham worked three scoreless innings as Myers Park (NC) picked up a 4-2 win over visiting Charlotte Latin. It was a hint at the talent the right-hander Dunham possesses on the baseball diamond.
The sport is also a passion for Dunham. But it’s on the football field where he’s earned the most praise. Dunham is a defensive end who’s garnered nine offers, including from Notre Dame, North Carolina, South Carolina and as of March 26, Virginia Tech.
But Dunham has much to navigate. He’s only taken a few college visits, and in the midst of his junior baseball season he’s also looking to see if the option of playing college baseball is a possibility. So far, coaches haven’t seriously discussed it. But Dunham is hoping that will come, which would greatly shape his recruitment.
