After a come-from-behind win against Wake Forest on Saturday, Virginia Tech men’s basketball is back in action on Tuesday night at Louisville. Mike Monaco and Randolph Childress have the call at 7 p.m. ET on ESPNU.

The Hokies (16-13, 8-10 ACC) beat the Demon Deacons 87-76 in Cassell Coliseum over the weekend.

“Great toughness,” Tech head coach Mike Young said Monday about what stood out about the win. “Just a tale of two halves. I thought we were fortunate to come in at the half down nine. We couldn’t slow them down, didn’t defend very well. But we hung in there and then off we go and limit them to 30 [second-half] points. Guarded much better. Now, they had some of the same shots, they just didn’t make them at the same clip that they did in the first half.

“But [Hunter] Cattoor’s work on [Hunter] Sallis was masterful. Our team did a nice job on Sallis, finding him in transition. It wasn’t all Hunter, but the lion’s share of that responsibility went to Hunter. We did a better job on Boopie Miller, keeping him out of the middle of the lane, which we didn’t do in the first half. Ball-screen coverages were a lot sharper and tighter. Now let’s go to Louisville tomorrow night and do it for a 40-minute period or longer stretches than what we saw in the first half on Saturday.”
