The No. 5 Hokies have been all over the national headlines since their 74-62 victory over North Carolina on Sunday.

Yes, Virginia Tech was the first ACC school to host ESPN’s College GameDay, and it put on quite the show, but the program is starting to draw the right attention at the right time.

The Athletic highlighted the Hokies in its power rankings on Monday, praising their 10-game win streak — “At least Virginia Tech is consistent, because no one else is in the ACC.” ESPN did the same and named Tech as its team of the week. Charlie Crème moved the Hokies up to a No. 2 seed in his Tuesday bracketology, too, and said they’re a team that could steal a No. 1 seed if they win out.

On top of that, Tech — rightfully so — jumped up three spots to No. 5 in Monday’s AP Top 25, passing Iowa and sitting one spot behind Stanford.
