On Feb. 9, Green Run (Va.) 2025 three-star wide receiver Jayden Anderson was ready to announce his commitment. His teammate, athlete Knahlij Harrell, was also set to announce. Until a few days before that, it was unclear which school they would choose.

It turns out, one school was the right fit for both players. That afternoon, in a ceremony at Green Run, they publicly announced their pledges to Virginia Tech. In hindsight, it made sense they’d both make that choice, but they were far from a package deal. And for Anderson, now that he’s set with his teammate and friend, he’s ready to contribute to the Hokies’ offense starting in 2025.

“It just kind of worked out that way,” Anderson said of the dual commitments. “That’s been my teammate since I was six or seven years old. I’m blessed we can continue to be teammates and work.
